Community Service

Volunteering:

The Foundation requires our scholarship families to complete community service hours. Families who receive a K-12 scholarship must complete 40 hours, and a family who receives a PREK scholarship must complete 10 hours. Please ask your school for a copy of the Bridge Volunteerism Form. A family has one year from the time that the scholarship award was deposited into their school’s tuition account to complete the entire requirement. Each family should return the form directly to the school upon completion of the hours. We ask that the school collect all of the forms and mail them to the Foundation in one complete package.

Examples of community service:

-At the school, family members can help out in many ways such as coaching a sports team, working at a fundraiser, helping in the cafeteria.

-In the community, family members may volunteer at church or help a neighbor with yard work, meals, etc.

-Students may also help! They can color a picture for the elderly at a nursing home, write a letter to troops overseas or pick up garbage at a playground.
